The D.R.E.A.M. Partnership relies on the support of people, like you, who have an understanding of the transition needs of young adults with ID and/or an understanding of postsecondary education to provide support and guidance for our initiatives. We would welcome additional time and talent for the following committees:
- The Education Committee assures that DREAM is recognized for establishing credible programs, which offer inclusive educational opportunities to individuals with intellectual disabilities in Pennsylvania and lead to competitive employment. To accomplish this, the Committee with establish DREAM as the resource for educators and parents, focusing on topics related to transition, outreach to secondary schools and intermediate units, education of parents, and funding options for postsecondary education opportunities.
- The Business Partnership Committee assures that DREAM has productive working relationships with members of Pennsylvania’s business community to facilitate college/business partnerships that meet labor market needs, focusing on topics related to working with employers in the local community to identify needs, and working with institutions of higher education on developing programs and program outcomes.
- The Scholarship Committee administers an annual scholarship program for students with intellectual disabilities and assures an annual funding mechanism, working in coordination with the Development Committee.
- The Development Committee assures that multiple sources of sustainable funding are available to DREAM, so that it can continue its successful work for members of the intellectual disabilities community. A key goal of the Committee is to develop and implement a sustainable capital campaign, working in coordination with the Scholarship Committee to establish an annual funding mechanism for the scholarship program.
